Regista Inc.

Let's make it interesting by overcoming the preconceived notion that it's impossible: Starting with urban development, the circle of circular economy

Register Co., Ltd. is a company that provides accompanying co-creation business support services for small and medium-sized businesses, temples, and local organizations.
In addition, we position ourselves as a local zebra company and are developing a variety of creative activities with the aim of solving regional issues through our business.
In particular, we are focusing on disseminating information that will lead to community development and culture through creative activities such as events, websites, and DTP co-created with local companies and organizations in Aichi Prefecture.
As a driving force in resolving local social issues, we will continue to create social value by promoting new value creation and the use of technology, centered on "co-creation."

Creating creativity that exceeds expectations Regista, whose company name means "director," engages in Web/DTP production and event planning. We aim to provide services that exceed expectations while making our customers' dreams a reality.
Rather than just making things, we value giving form to a company's ideas through projects and making end users and companies smile. We will continue to take on challenges and change without being bound by industry conventions, and will continue to maintain our "Sugata" spirit of providing compassionate support to our customers.
I also take pleasure in enriching my own life by making the dreams of our employees, partner companies, and customers come true, and helping to improve the city we live in together with Nakama.

Toward the realization of an interesting local community At our company, we work with local people and customers to plan and manage events that enliven the region, such as the ``NAGOYA ANTIQUE MARKET'' at Higashibetsuin and Nishibetsuin in Naka Ward, and the ``Minato Saturday Market'' at Tsukijiguchi, Minato Ward.
We have repeatedly engaged in "co-creation" while keeping an eye on the essence of regional revitalization, such as creating unseen possibilities beyond solving local issues and creating value, and generating new ideas from questions about society and business. We have transformed preconceptions of "impossibility" into plans that are "detailed".
As a local zebra company that creates social impact, we will continue to promote urban development and contribute to the realization of a more interesting local community.

Initiatives and thoughts on upcycling Up until now, we have set up an upcycle base in our own space and have been conducting upcycle activities to reuse waste tiles and create valuable products from trash.

The background of this initiative is,

・There is a growing movement to restrict the use of non-recyclable materials.
・There is a movement among high-end brands to avoid animal-based leather and adopt materials with low carbon emissions.
・Products with low environmental impact are important, especially among Generation Z.
There are such social changes.

However, there are still few cases of upcycling, and in order to increase the number of successful cases
・Visualization of corporate and household waste and clarification of supply sources
・Matching creators and trash
・Learn basic knowledge of upcycling
・Preparation of equipment to take advantage of knowledge
I think it is necessary.
Our company will continue to contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society while creating new value from things that would otherwise be thrown away.

Efforts to develop new environmentally friendly products

Development of crayons made from upcycled temple candles

We have developed a crayon that is made from upcycled residual wax from Japanese candles used during temple visits.

In Aichi Prefecture alone, tens of thousands of candles are discarded each year, and by taking advantage of their color, we are recycling them into red crayons, which are often used by children.

This product is a product that combines a workshop program and project where you can experience the process of recycling leftover candles, with consideration for use at kindergartens and special events run by temples.

【Points leading to green innovation】

We plan to upcycle leftover candles from temples into crayons and use them at events that connect people in the area where the temple is located.

We will expand the circle of a new circular economy through small initiatives.

Interview

Background on Participation in this Project

The area that our company is currently focusing on is urban development.

Above all, we are placing particular emphasis on the revitalization of “temple town culture,” and have undertaken a variety of initiatives aimed at disseminating the culture of temples in central Nagoya and creating an environment where local people can gather.

Under these circumstances, I applied for this project because I thought it would be possible to utilize the many candles left in temples as valuable materials and use them to spread the word about culture.

Findings and impressions after participating

For this project, we developed a plan by interviewing people who gathered at temple events and thinking together with our hands.

In order to create a program in which socially conscious temples work together with the local community to contribute to a low-carbon society, we considered the story and manufacturability of the program, and proceeded with the project with the aim of developing a prototype method that could be developed as a workshop and commercializing it.

There are still problems with the stability of the product, but we hope to make improvements in the future and use it to hold workshops and sell it as temple goods.

Future proposals from our company

The reason why we focus on temples is that they are not only religious facilities, but also serve as evacuation centers during disasters. In today’s world where various disasters occur, we believe that in order for temples to fulfill their functions properly, they must exist as places that connect with local people on a daily basis.

Under these circumstances, by upcycling leftover wax from temples into crayons and other products and consuming them at events that connect with local people, we will develop a new circle of circular economy, at least in a small way. This will expand the circle of temples and local communities, find a relationship that allows them to cooperate in emergencies, and create a safety net through temple town culture, as well as contribute to the development of our company and a low-carbon society.
