Araki Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

An expert in copper alloys that supports industry through difficult processing and contributes to low-carbon energy infrastructure

Araki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. was founded in May 1955 in Mizuho Ward, Nagoya City, when the founder converted the six-tatami room of his home into a factory. Since then, for approximately 70 years, we have operated a cutting business that puts the customer first.
When we first started our business, we used general-purpose lathes to manufacture automobile parts, but as the times changed, we introduced NC lathes and machining centers, and now we produce machined parts for a variety of industries, including automobile parts, construction machinery parts, and machine tool parts. We can handle a wide range of needs, from processing a few prototypes to mass production of several thousand pieces.

“Araki Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for when you are in trouble” is proud of its technological capabilities. At Araki Seisakusho, we perform a variety of metal processing, focusing on cutting copper alloys, which are prone to product distortion and tool wear, and machining brass, titanium alloys, and stainless steel, which are known to be difficult-to-cut materials, and have established our position as ``Araki Seisakusho'' when you are in trouble. In addition to our own technical capabilities, we have a network for welding, sheet metal processing, plating, and hardening processing, and we manage everything from material procurement to cutting, grinding, and post-processing, reducing the burden on our customers.

Active efforts to process difficult shapes At Araki Seisakusho, we are actively working on metal processing, mainly half-shaped plain bearings, as well as processing of difficult shapes. Half bearings are increasingly being adopted as bearings for wind power generation, and product quality requires extremely strict dimensional accuracy, including parallelism of ±0.005, roundness, and flatness. However, our skilled craftsmen are able to meet these strict demands by using the techniques they have cultivated over many years. In addition, using our unique technology, we manufacture floating seals that combine copper alloy, which is a difficult-to-cut material, and halved metal processing, which is difficult to shape. It is used globally as a plain bearing component for general industrial use.

Manufacturing that contributes to a sustainable society By designing and manufacturing all of the jigs and tools we use in-house, we can significantly shorten the lead time from quotation to finished product. Through this efficient manufacturing, we are able to effectively utilize resources and respond to the diverse needs of our customers in a one-stop manner.
In addition, by leveraging the technological capabilities, integrated production system, and multi-skilled employees that we have cultivated over many years of working with copper alloys, we have begun efforts to build a low-carbon energy infrastructure through copper alloys, which have excellent energy transmission. Through these activities, we will contribute to the realization of Goal 7 of the SDGs, ``Affordable and clean energy,'' and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.

Efforts to develop new environmentally friendly products

Development of promotional tools for nanobubble generators for a low-carbon society

“AUFB Ark” is a device that generates 130 million nanobubbles.

Due to its durability due to its metal construction and standards that comply with the Water Supply Act, it is a product that can be used in a wide range of applications from factories to homes.

In this project, we clarified the characteristics of the product and created a PR tool.

[Performance]

・Cleaning: Removes dirt with the power of nano bubbles

・Deodorizing: Suppresses bacteria and reduces odors. Toward a comfortable environment

・Growth promotion: For promoting plant growth.

[Advantages of introduction]

・Improve efficiency by reducing equipment maintenance time

・Cost reduction due to maintenance free

・Environmentally friendly by improving energy efficiency and reducing cleaning agents

【Points leading to green innovation】

Nanobubble technology is being researched and developed in a variety of fields, and we believe that using it in a way that saves energy will lead to a low-carbon society, and we are working on it, but we would be happy to hear from people who have actually tried it, saying things like “It reduced the number of polishing defects” and “It reduced the amount of cleaning required during maintenance.”

Interview

Background on Participation in this Project

Our company is a manufacturer that has accumulated know-how through the advancement of technology through client work, but in these days of severe economic fluctuations, creating new business has become an issue in order to stabilize management, and we are taking various initiatives. As part of this project, we have worked with Arakawa Industries Co., Ltd., which owns the patented technology, to develop a nanobubble generator and have successfully commercialized it, but we are having problems with how to promote sales, so we decided to participate in this project.

Findings and impressions after participating

Nanobubble technology is being researched and developed in a variety of fields, and we believe that using it in a way that saves energy will lead to a low-carbon society, and we are working on it, but we would be happy to hear from people who have actually tried it, saying things like “It reduced the number of polishing defects” and “It reduced the amount of cleaning required during maintenance.”

Also, for our company, this was the first time we worked with a designer to develop a sales promotion tool, and we strongly felt the need to not only think about color and shape, but also to assemble the content that would appeal from the field.

Future proposals from our company

Although the content of this project is only one of the sales promotion tools, we will continue to develop other tools and aim to expand sales of products that lead to low carbon emissions, as well as work on developing products that will make work easier for people working at production sites that are familiar to us.
